DVD Review Adventures in Booga Booga Land - Vol 1 by Richard Milner

I just received a complimentary DVD from Thomas Nelson Book Publishing for me to review as part of their Blogger Review Program. The opinion expressed here is my own. The DVD titled "Adventures in Booga Booga Land - Vol 1" is by Richard Milner. Marty and Gerard meet in the city of Booga Booga and become friends. Based on the parable of the laborers in the vineyard, they decide to become window washers and feel they haven't received a fair wage when it is time to receive payment as those who showed up later and worked less received the same amount as they did. Teaching that the Master's reward in the Final Judgment will not be based on how long we have labored in the vineyard. That we do not obtain our heavenly reward by punching a time clock. What is essential is that our labors in the workplace of the Lord have caused us to become something. The second is based on the parable the wise man and the foolish man. This explains how we all have problems or experiences that test our beliefs. These are like the rains, floods, and storms that can beat upon a house. If you have not built your testimony upon the rock of the gospel, when problems or temptations come, you might decide to give up, and, just like a house built upon the sand, your testimony might be destroyed. The third is based on Matthew 5:14-16. The Savior taught us the importance of letting the gospel light shine in our lives. No one is saved solely and simply for himself alone, just as no lamp is lighted merely for its own benefit. My 3 yr old son and I watched this. It kept his interest for a little bit, but didn't want to watch all 3 of the 15 minute episodes in a row. I felt the animation was done tastefully and for the most part was a good illustration for children.
